Rémy began his musical studies at the age of five by the piano.
Musical studies that enhance during the years, and even today, by the practices of the saxophone, the bass and the double bass.
He is graduate at the end of his musical studies at the Annecy conservatory of music in 1976, and, further to the obtaining of his high school diploma, made two years of musicology and composition studies at the university of Grenoble before moving in Paris in 1980.
In 1984, he records his first album, ” L’île des Temps ” which will be the starting point of a musician and composer career nationally and internationally recognized.
In 1987 he is a prize-winner of the international jazz contest of Holeiaart, in Belgium, and in 1991 he is named to the Django d’ Or for his album ” Amazonians “. He is also a prize-winner of the Heineken Jazz Festival contest in 1992 and records two albums for the famous label Polygram with the trio Yes Yes Yes.
He records nine albums as leader and many others as sideman, bass player, arranger or music producer.
He plays or records with Andy Sheppard, Peter Erskine, David Liebman, Stéphane Huchard, Eric Séva, Sydney Thiam, Mina Agossi, Céline Bonacina, Khalile Chahine, Boulou Ferré, Mike Stern and many other talented musicians.
